Event Operations Associate (External Agency Staff)
This position is with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners; the selected candidate will be an employee of that agency, not the NFL. The assignment is temporary and may be extended by mutual agreement.
About the role
The NFL Live Event Operations team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced temporary Lead Associate to oversee administrative duties for the Event Operations team managing International Games. This role will also assist in event operations both onsite and during the planning process. The ideal candidate has a proven background in live event operations, venue/stadium management, and logistical planning, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
This position is based in New York City and requires travel, including domestic and international trips.
Responsibilities
- Oversee administrative functions for the Event Operations team, including overall event communication and meeting planning.
- Provide administrative support: scheduling meetings, taking notes, managing follow-ups, and executing contracts.
- Oversee the payment process for event operations vendors and track progress.
- Collaborate with the events team to build clear, effective presentations across events and projects.
- Participate in the After Action Reporting process, collecting data and producing outward-facing reports.
- Develop production schedules and manage distribution lists.
- Conduct research on venues, vendors, logistics, and technology as needed.
- Support planning and execution of the NFL’s major events, including vendor management, production, venue tours, transportation, wayfinding, and logistical planning.
- Work in an operational capacity onsite at tentpole and other events in various roles.
- Support planning documents and onsite meetings, including dashboards, hotel/meeting space set-ups, A/V, IT, food and beverage, scheduling, and transportation.
- Handle assigned projects from start to finish, ensuring all parties are updated on progress and deadlines.
- Support the events team in managing outside vendors and agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3+ years of experience in the events or sports industry.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and levels inside and outside the organization.
- Proven ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work long hours, nights, and weekends as needed.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
- Service-oriented with professional presentation skills.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and oversee/motivate support staff.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Schedule
This is a live event production role that may require physical tasks, including:
- Lifting and moving heavy objects.
- Extended periods outdoors in inclement weather.
- Long hours of physical movement during show production.
- Extensive travel requirements (up to 40%).
- Site builds and adjustment of physical assets.
Onsite presence at an NFL office or stadium location is required; remote or hybrid options are not offered.
Pay
Salary range: $25–$30 USD per hour. The NFL expects to hire near the middle of the range, with exceptions for candidates whose experience, credentials, or expertise far exceed the position’s requirements.
