About the role

Veterans Inc., the largest provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England, seeks an Event Manager to lead the planning and execution of organizational events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of events from initial concept through post-event wrap-up.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and task delegation to the Event Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Programs, Operations, Communications) to integrate events with company strategy.
  • Oversee all logistical elements, including venue selection/setup, vendor negotiation, contracts, catering, transportation, and equipment.
  • Manage event budgets, process invoices, and monitor expenses to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Partner with the Communications team to coordinate digital promotion, social media campaigns, and print materials.
  • Manage event communications with staff, volunteers, and external partners.
  • Provide on-site management, including guest check-in, vendor oversight, and troubleshooting.
  • Compile attendee data, feedback, and key metrics to create post-event reports summarizing ROI, outcomes, and recommendations for future improvement.
  • Maintain organization of event equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of successful event management experience is required. 6-8 years is preferred.
  • Familiarity with fundraising, nonprofits, and donor engagement is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and handle logistics.
