Event Manager
About the Role
As an Event Manager at The Oncenter, you will provide professional client services support in the planning, organization, and management of events within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Assist Event Managers with on-site events
- Meet and consult with client groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and/or events
- Coordinate activities with the various service contractors for assigned meetings and/or events
- Guide clients in preparation of events by interpreting and explaining contract provisions and policies
- Keep clients informed as to status of deadline schedules, including but not limited to floor plan submissions, meeting room set-up specifications, insurance requirements, and other relevant details
- Directly supervise and assign tasks to all Event Staff
- Communicate event details to all required internal and external contacts to ensure events are effectively coordinated to meet and exceed customer expectations
- Prepare cost estimates and monitor final billing
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of detailed requirements to operational departments
- Serve as primary liaison between clients and facility departments during all phases of planning the event, during the event, and closing the event
- Produce event orders, reports, diagrams, etc., outlining event requirements concerning facilities, equipment, catering needs, etc.
- Attend planning, organization, and other event and facility meetings in support of facility operations
- Ensure customer satisfaction throughout event planning process and during event
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- Minimum of two years management level experience coordinating events in a multi-purpose facility which services conventions, exhibits, trade and consumer shows, athletic events, concerts, sales meetings, food and beverage functions, etc.
- Working knowledge of the principles of facility management, services, and equipment for a similar facility

- Salary: $62,353.20/annually

Physical Demands
- Must be able to walk/stand/sit for long periods of time
- Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment
- May be required to work both indoors and outdoors as required by the function
- Must have the physical ability to maneuver around the venue, at times walking and/or standing for 8-10 hours or greater, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 lbs+, and frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting
