Event Corner Worker - Homestead-Miami Speedway

About the role

The Corner Worker position at Homestead-Miami Speedway is crucial for maintaining track safety and providing essential information to drivers. This role is integral to the smooth operation of on-track events at the 650-acre facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent information to drivers using racing flags and signals.
• Observe, monitor, and assess track surface conditions.
• Observe competitors for driving behavior and their cars' mechanical condition.
• May be called upon to assist during an accident.
• Communicate information to Race Control, stewards, Operations, and emergency medical responders.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• A valid driver's license.
• Racing knowledge.
• Bilingual, native in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and radio communication skills.
• Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, occasional holidays, and special events.
• Comfortable working in an outside environment in all non-life-threatening weather conditions.
• Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
• Attend mandatory annual training and complete required online training initially and annually.

Qualifications

Corner Workers must possess a strong understanding of racing terminology and safety protocols. They should have excellent physical stamina and be able to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Skills

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure under stress is critical.
