Event Coordinator

About the role
The Event Coordinator will be based at the Verda Health Plan of Texas - Dallas Community Centers or office, providing customer service to members and seniors in the community. This role represents Verda in the community, developing and maintaining the company’s reputation through customer-facing interactions and some marketing responsibilities. The position is motivated by Verda’s mission to deliver culturally sensitive healthcare solutions to seniors and reports to the Marketing Director.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service for the Community Center or office.
- Offer in-language support for members regarding their benefits and accessing care.
- Act as a Medicare Advisor with in-language support to community members with questions about their Medicare options.
- Schedule and coordinate health events held at the community centers, including logistics and planning efforts.
- Communicate and coordinate general building repairs with the Facilities Manager/Department.
- Maintain a proper inventory of equipment, center supplies, and promotional/marketing items.
- Track and monitor traffic flow and utilization of services.
- Perform routine inspections to ensure equipment is working properly for quality assurance purposes.
- Manage the use of space to host meetings and programs while ensuring safety and cleanliness.
- Identify and develop programs and activities that bring value and interest to the center by working closely with the community, Field Engagement, and Sales team.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, or Communications, or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of hands-on professional experience with event or activity planning & coordination.
- Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience.
- Bilingual in English and a second language required, preferably in Chinese, Vietnamese, or Spanish.
- Experience working with an ethnically diverse population.
- Experience working at a health plan, healthcare, non-profit organizations, or senior community preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in marketing preferred.

Schedule
- Full-time onsite (100% in-office)
- Hours of operations: 9am – 6pm, Monday to Friday; weekends as needed
- Occasional travel may be required for meetings and training sessions.
