About the role

Supervises the EVs, Digital & Design (EVDD) Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) of approximately 5 engineers in Kansas City Assembly Plant (KCAP) and remotely in Dearborn Truck Plant (DTP). The supervisor, located in KCAP, drives Quality improvements for Electrical, Switches, & Shifters Functions in partnership with the existing EVDD PVT Supervisor that handles Software Functions. This role covers FH Function content including LV Wiring, HV Wiring, Shifters, and Switches.

Responsibilities

  • Own cascaded Functional Warranty quality objectives for the base organization (R/1000 and CPU).
  • Respond to plant/supplier issues before they leave assembly plants; evaluate chronic and new warranty issues to push for cut-off and resolution ASAP.
  • Support Plant First Time Through (FTT) improvements.
  • Lead Production/Industrial Engineering (IE) and Vehicle Operations Manufacturing Engineering (VOME).
  • Chair and support Variability Reduction Team (VRT) meetings at the Plant.
  • Lead VRT review and sign-off on supplier requests for component changes (SREA); run trials as required.
  • Support weekly Vehicle Function Group (VFG) subsystem Quality Meetings to maintain clear communication with Functional Managers on all vehicle quality issues.
  • Support weekly Functional Quality Reviews (FQR) with the Functional Chief Engineer to address high-impact vehicle quality issues.
  • Support daily plant meetings to update Plant Leadership on all Functional quality initiatives.
  • Support Vehicle Quality Reviews (VQR) and Program Quality Reviews (PQR) when Functional topics are on the agenda.
  • Drive Problem Resolution for SIMPSN Warranty communication and coordination with VFG/Plant/Others; author Quality projects, manage implementation, calculate impact, and manage warranty forecast/glidepaths.
  • Lead IRIS PO Warranty claim binning and analysis.
  • Provide Stop Ship Support and prevention: identify issues, coordinate subject matter experts, advise severity and next steps/containment, interface with Core Functional Engineering.
  • Support Major Launch if requested/agreed upon; possibly lead aspects of Minor Launch if requested/agreed upon.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • 5+ years' experience in automotive Electrified, Connectivity, or Systems/Components field.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Comfortable working in a plant environment where problems are not always well-defined.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Well-organized, independent, and ready to work with minimal direction.
  • Self-starter, able to prioritize, and flexible enough to change priorities quickly.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to strengthen cross-functional system engineering & connected vehicle data knowledge.
  • On-Site Assembly Plant launch lead/participation experience.

Pay

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500 to $218,100. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility, and competitive market value.
