ETL Tester with Ab Initio

About the role

Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure delivery of quality software applications. Involved in test planning, writing test cases and scripts, test case automation, test execution, and documenting problems. The role requires building test strategies, test plans, test scripts, test execution, and defect tracking and reporting for data warehousing and reporting capabilities, with exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to meet target dates and expectations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute formal test plans
• Perform test planning, write test cases and scripts
• Automate test cases and execute tests
• Document all problems and defects
• Build test strategies, test plans, test scripts, and test execution processes
• Perform defect tracking and reporting for data warehousing and reporting capabilities
• Define approach to validating capabilities
• Develop testing strategies and test plans including functional, regression, negative, deployment testing, ETL job execution (Control‑M/Control Center) testing, and error handling testing
• Collaborate with business to understand requirements
• Coordinate with operations team for build deployment and execution in the test environment
• Track defects and report on testing progress and results
• Demonstrate advanced SQL, UNIX, Control‑M, Control Center, and ETL (Ab Initio) skills
• Understand the code base by reviewing Ab‑Initio Psets, graphs (.mp) and XFR’s
• Mock‑up and upload test data using Ab Initio’s Test Data Management tool (TDM)
• Prepare Test Strategy, Test Plan, Traceability Matrix, Test Cases, Test Data, Test Results, Test Defects, and Build Assessment documentation
