Automated Tester

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking an Automated Tester to join a small test team supporting multiple software applications across various deployment stages, from emerging technologies to legacy systems. This role requires expertise in modern automated testing methodologies and the ability to perform manual testing when automated solutions are impractical.

Responsibilities

• Write and execute SQL queries for data validation (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL).
• Develop and maintain automated tests using Selenium WebDriver, with a strong emphasis on writing automated code in Java (not just record-and-playback).
• Evaluate developer assignments, independently understand requirements, and engineer tests to validate best-case scenarios while probing for potential failure conditions.
• Use IDEs (e.g., IntelliJ, Eclipse, NetBeans) to write and debug test code.
• Interact with Linux environments, including Bash scripting and vi.
• Write and maintain test plans, cases, procedures, scripts, and scenarios.
• Demonstrate proficiency in both manual and automated test processes.
• Adapt to a constantly evolving work environment while ensuring QA and testing approaches reference known vulnerabilities and best practices.
• Conduct and report testing using repeatable, industry-standard processes.
• Maintain and update the test environment.
• Apply development skills to write code for automated testing.
• Utilize testing tools such as JMeter and/or Selenium for hands-on testing.
• Collaborate with application developers to support performance and load testing as the technology stack expands.
