Key Responsibilities
- Continually evaluate our ethics and compliance program in light of DOJ guidelines and recommend and implement program and process improvements as appropriate
- Promote our culture of compliance by developing effective communications regarding the ethics program for Masco’s global workforce
- Manage the hotline investigation intake and reporting process, including establishing reporting timelines and procedures, training users in the hotline system and working with our system vendor to improve the structure of the system as needed
- Manage the Company’s compliance policies to assure timely updating and effective and efficient dissemination of policies throughout our organization
- Work with the professionals in our Legal Department to conduct risk analyses and implement an appropriate compliance training plan throughout our organization
- Manage the Company’s annual ethics certification process and online training program, including recommending training courses, supporting the assignment of training, and maintaining training records
- Prepare ethics and compliance reports for Masco’s Board of Directors, management and business units that demonstrate our program’s effectiveness
- Document the ethics and compliance program and processes and the compliance roles and responsibilities throughout our organization
- Measure and assess the ethics and compliance program by monitoring and analyzing ethics and compliance KPIs and making recommendations for program development based on risks and needs
- Manage relationships with third party vendors, including selecting and negotiating contracts with these vendors and supervising and evaluating the performance of the vendors
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience at an in-house law department and/or law firm, including development and implementation of ethics and compliance programs and reporting
- Experience working with third party training and ethics hotline providers, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams)
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) certification preferred
- Ability to think strategically and creatively and develop recommendations, even with faced with some ambiguity
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment, manage numerous projects simultaneously and move projects forward to completion expeditiously
- Problem-solving skills with solutions-orientation mindset; ability to develop or improve work processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with our headquarters and business unit colleagues, other legal department members and external service providers, including outside counsel
- Sound judgment and professionalism with keen focus on providing outstanding customer service and business partnering
- Solid organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
