Ethical Campaigns Coordinator - US

RemoteRemoteMarketing$68k/yrFull-time

About the role

Lush is a fresh, handmade cosmetics company built on ethical values—environmental protection, human rights, and animal rights—and we embed these principles into every aspect of our business. We partner with charities, NGOs, activists, and community groups to amplify their work and drive meaningful change. This role sits within our global Campaigns Team, where you will help shape public-facing campaigns, engage with external partners, and uphold Lush’s commitment to integrity and activism.

We’re seeking someone driven by a passion to shift public awareness, experienced in ethical campaigning, and able to engage across grassroots activists, internal teams, and company leadership. You should be connected to human rights, animal rights, or environmental movements in the US and bring fresh perspectives to amplify underrepresented voices.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage your knowledge of the US campaigning landscape to identify and propose partnerships with progressive grassroots organizations, NGOs, and movements, including new collaborators.
  • Develop creative campaign angles that center underrepresented or misrepresented groups and issues.
  • Maintain authentic, respectful relationships with external partners, activists, and charities.
  • Align campaign priorities with Lush’s charitable giving team to explore funding opportunities for grassroots partners.
  • Translate complex ethical or legislative topics into clear, inspiring educational materials, training guides, and window concepts that empower retail staff to bring campaigns to life.
  • Write compelling campaign copy for internal and external communications, web articles, press mailers, and digital platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, YouTube, Bluesky).
  • Help design creative concepts for store windows, in-store activations, and public stunts, and participate in executions when needed.
  • Collaborate with PR to draft press releases focused on ethical issues and partner organizations, prioritizing earned media impact over brand promotion.
  • Maximize campaign impact while managing a tight budget, ensuring resourceful execution.
  • Provide post-campaign feedback to staff, including impact reporting, outcomes, petition numbers, and partner feedback.
  • Attend key business meetings to offer moral guidance, intersectional insight, and strategic input on core ethical positions (e.g., animal testing, environmental initiatives, human rights).
  • Collaborate across departments to refine campaign proposals, foster open communication, and support healthy debate on campaign direction.

Requirements

  • A proven portfolio of experience, relationships, and credibility within US charity, NGO, or grassroots activist sectors.
  • 3+ years managing and executing successful ethical or grassroots campaigns, ideally within an NGO, community organizing, charity, or progressive brand.
  • Deep, intersectional understanding of current affairs across environmental defense, animal rights, and social justice, with cultural sensitivity to communicate complex topics responsibly.
  • Highly organized and methodical, capable of coordinating multi-stakeholder projects (e.g., copy approvals, fast-moving stunts) under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience delivering presentations, training, and filmed interviews to diverse audiences.
  • A track record of planning and executing public-facing campaigns with measurable outcomes.
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Passion for Lush’s values and a commitment to driving tangible legislative change or social action.

Benefits

  • Full-time, regular role with a competitive base salary range of $68,400 – $83,600 USD, based on location and market assessment.
  • Opportunities to participate in bonus programs and total rewards eligibility.
  • Remote role open to US-based candidates only.
