Job Details
The Project Manager / Estimator is responsible for leading projects from preconstruction through closeout while supporting business development efforts through accurate estimating and client relationship management. This role serves as a key point of contact for clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimating & Preconstruction
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals.
- Develop project budgets, scopes of work, and value engineering recommendations.
- Participate in bid reviews and client presentations.
- Project Management
- Manage multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and procurement plans.
- Cook up subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and field personnel.
- Monitor project costs and prepare financial forecasts.
- Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
- Conduct project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, contract requirements, and company procedures.
- Client & Team Leadership
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Collaborate closely with superintendents and field teams to drive project success.
- Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions.
- Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of commercial construction estimating and/or project management experience.
- Experience with healthcare, corporate interiors, life sciences, education, or institutional projects preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
