Estimator In Training

About the role

The Estimator in Training at Gerber Collision & Glass works closely with the Estimator to learn how to effectively diagnose and prepare estimates for repair, ensuring accuracy, thoroughness, and profitability according to insurance partner and company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers at repair drop-off and build rapport.
• Map damage with customers, document previous and current losses, and identify WOW opportunities.
• Handle repair mapping, take initial photographs, upload to CCC One, and notify production of arrival time.
• Verify estimates during teardown, finalize using proper templates, and work with the repair team to ensure correct notations on windshields.
• Create final parts lists, use the Promise Date Calculator, call customers to review estimates and promise dates, and update them regularly.
• Participate in and contribute to production meetings, call customers the next day to schedule their vehicles, and follow up with technicians after tear-down to make adjustments if needed.
• Assist insurance adjusters with damage reports and provide service to insurance claim re-inspectors.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Successfully complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months of employment.
• Must possess clear vision for accurate damage estimation.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years related work experience preferred.
• Photo-imaging software experience preferred.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer literate.
• Knowledge of Microsoft products preferred.
• Good decision-making ability and sound judgment.

Pay

$18 - 23 / Hour. Compensation is commensurate with skill, education, and experience.
