About the role
As a Construction Cost Estimator at DBI Construction Consultants, you will assist with site visits, analyze costs, timelines, and risks, and prepare professional reports using industry software.
Responsibilities
- Assist with site visits to collect measurements, photos, and project details.
- Support the analysis of labor, materials, and timelines for project estimates.
- Track costs and flag differences between projected and actual figures.
- Prepare professional reports and data entries in estimating tools.
- Gain exposure to industry software like Xactimate, Bluebeam Revu, and project scheduling tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil / mechanical / structural engineering, construction management, or related field.
- Past construction or risk management internship experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and technical reading skills.
- Advanced Excel skills; Xactimate/scheduling software experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel (~30%), meet the physical requirements, and work in varied field conditions.

Physical Activities and Requirements
The incumbent may be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, or feel, especially in the course of investigating and assessing property damage; these requirements may include the need to lift weights of up to 50 pounds, including a ladder, and climb ladders upwards of 30 feet.
