Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction Location: Deerfield Beach, FL Work Environment: Onsite Compensation: 80,000-130,000+/Year We are an established heavy civil construction company in the Deerfield Beach area that is looking to add an experienced Estimator to its team. This is a strong opportunity for someone with a background in heavy civil construction, roadway, utilities, earthwork/dirt, or infrastructure projects who wants to take on a key role within the estimating function. The team is especially interested in someone who is seasoned, technically strong, and capable of growing into a larger leadership role over time. Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projectsReview plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documentsPerform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricingSolicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotesIdentify project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunitiesCoordinate with Project Managers, field teams, and leadership throughout the bidding processMaintain organized estimating documentation and historical cost dataAssist with bid preparation, proposals, and project handoffSupport change order pricing and additional estimating needs as projects progressStay current on market pricing, labor costs, and construction trends Qualifications Previous estimating experience within heavy civil construction Experience with roadway, utilities, earthwork/dirt, infrastructure, or similar projects Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and quantity takeoffsField experience is highly preferredExperience with Primavera P6 is a plusProficiency with Microsoft Office / Microsoft SuiteStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple bids and deadlines at oncePE license or other relevant construction certifications/licenses are a plusMust be comfortable working onsite; this is not a remote position The company would especially like to meet someone who has the experience and leadership ability to eventually grow into a Senior Estimator or Chief Estimator-type role.
