Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Estimator to oversee bid management for complex transportation projects, including roadway, bridges, and transit facilities.

Responsibilities

• Managing the full bid process from cost estimation, risk analysis, CPM scheduling, to bid strategy development.
• Leading and coordinating a team of estimators, ensuring accuracy and completeness of estimates.
• Reviewing project documents, specifications, and contract terms, including design-build and traditional contracts.
• Developing bid packages, analyzing costs, and conducting productivity and risk assessments.
• Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers, and identifying new bid opportunities.
• Presenting bid strategies and documentation to leadership and managing post-bid activities like buyouts and change order analysis.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management.
• At least 10 years of experience in Heavy Civil construction, with 5+ years estimating in the U.S.

Skills

• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of FDOT construction standards, contracts, and technical specifications.
• Experience with estimating software such as Heavy Bid, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam.
• Understanding of construction costs, risk management, and economic factors affecting bids.
