Key Responsibilities
- Bid Coordination: Organizing, reviewing, and tracking bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Documentation Management: Preparing bid documents, analyzing drawings, and ensuring accuracy in cost databases.
- Communication: Acting as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and coordinating with project teams.
- Scheduling: Setting up site visits, meetings, and maintaining proposal deadlines.
- Administrative Support: Utilizing software like Excel or QuickBooks to track expenses and project data.
Additional Responsibilities
- Cook up and update the Estimating Calendar by keeping track of new projects and assigned estimators.
- Update bidders list spreadsheets.
- Provide updates to staff on any project that is not covered.
- Keep track of bids sent to customers, low bidders, and customer bid track win rates.
- Afford assistance to increase efficiency of sales and estimating staff.
Requirements
- Experience: Often requires experience in construction administration or junior estimating roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with takeoff and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Sage) and MS Office Suite.
- Communication: Strong organizational and communication skills are essential to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
