Estimation Engineer

About the role

Crown Technical Systems, a Flex Company, is seeking an Estimation Engineer to join our dynamic team in Fontana, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering and experience preparing cost proposals for relay panels and control enclosure manufacturing projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering department, project managers, and business development team to prepare cost proposals for projects
• Coordinate with customers regarding specification/design questions and clarifications
• Review and coordinate with suppliers/vendors for pricing and maintain working files for estimate figures
• Prepare accurate, detailed, and disciplined estimates, including developing scope of work, pricing, and labor schedules
• Design and draw fabrication and assembly drawings for control buildings and/or control panels as required
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to meet growth demands
• Run kick-off meetings for projects as assigned by the department manager
• Research new procedures, proposals, and process improvements
• Propose ideas and suggestions for areas of improvement to increase bid success rate

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
• At least 2 years of related experience

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand Mechanical and Electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to make independent judgments
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and other related programs (AutoCAD, Solidworks)

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
