Responsibilities
- Develop reliable cost benchmarks using historical performance, current pricing, and project cost drivers.
- Build and improve estimating tools, templates, and processes for greater consistency, speed, and accuracy.
- Partner with Sales, Engineering, Production, Installation and Finance to keep estimates grounded in current cost assumptions.
- Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and customer requirements to support accurate quotes and project cost budgets.
- Track estimate-to-actual performance and share cost insights that support project-level accountability and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience in estimating, manufacturing, construction, fabrication, or another technical environment.
- Strong understanding of estimating, pricing, labor, materials, freight, overhead, and supplier cost inputs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with estimating tools, ERP systems, or cost databases.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments.
