Estimating Engineer

Youngstown, OH – Must have an Automation & Controls background.

About the role

This role sits between sales and engineering, focused on building accurate cost estimates and proposals for custom automation and controls projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with in-house sales and engineering teams to determine the project's engineering, material, and shop labor requirements.
• Compile the project's engineering, material, and manufacturing labor requirements and prepare accurate cost budgets and selling prices.
• Maintain accurate item numbers and up-to-date cost data in the estimating system.
• Enter orders into the company business systems for execution by engineering and manufacturing.
• Utilize established estimating policies, procedures, and systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Requirements

• Electrical or Automation Engineering degree.
• 5+ years experience in equipment design or within an OEM / system integration environment.
• Strong communication skills with ability to produce clear, well-structured documentation.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Pay

$100,000 - $150,000 / year including overtime.
