Esthetician (On-Call)

Salary: $16.90/hr.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert skin care treatments and personalized skin care knowledge for each guest.
• Perform facials, hand treatments, and depilatory waxing.
• Collaborate with clients to tailor experiences based on their needs and areas of concentration or avoidance.
• Discretely review guest’s medical history and injuries to provide the best care.
• Become familiar with the Spa treatment menu to guide guests, suggest add-ons, and recommend service upgrades or professional home-care products.
• Review and follow treatment protocols to ensure consistency and improve guest experience.
• Actively engage with guests to understand their wellness goals and recommend tailored services or enhancements.
• Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation for rooms, equipment, and tools.
• Complete daily checklists and keep the Spa leadership team updated on items needing re-order or repair.
• Work collaboratively with team members to provide excellent service and a positive working environment.
• Handle emergencies and operate all spa equipment safely and effectively.
• Focus on guest satisfaction by resolving concerns and creating surprise-and-delight moments.
• Teach and model guest service, technical skills, procedural skills, and safety guidelines.
• Perform other tasks to achieve the service, financial, and operational goals of the spa.
• Attend mandatory meetings and report suspicious activities or hazardous conditions.
• Assist with guest and employee safety during emergencies.
• Utilize products efficiently, maintain inventory, and ensure room cleanliness.
• Complete commission reports accurately and on time.
• Cross-train and perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Keep work areas neat, organized, and report equipment or supply needs immediately.
• Perform expert skin care treatments and aromatherapy following specific guidelines for stress relief, relaxation, and cleansing.
• Educate guests on continued skin care using products sold at the Spa.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be mature, pleasant, courteous, cooperative, and an enthusiastic team player with good human relations skills.
• Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Knowledge of cosmetics and aromatherapy.
• Proficiency in performing skin care treatments for hands, feet, neck, shoulders, and décolleté.
• Proficiency in advising clients on personal skin care.
• High School graduate.
• Valid CA cosmetology license with completed clinical training hours.
• Previous experience in a spa or guest service role.
• Previous experience in a resort setting (desirable).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow directions with limited supervision.
