About the role

The Private Client Services Practice Group in Phoenix is seeking a full-time Estate Planning Paralegal to support estate and trust planning matters involving high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, and closely held businesses. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with estate planning, trust administration, probate, and estate administration matters.
  • Prepare and revise estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, beneficiary designations, and related documents.
  • Assist with trust funding, asset retitling, wealth-transfer planning, and closely held business entities.
  • Prepare probate and estate administration documents, inventories, accountings, notices, and related filings.
  • Gather and organize financial, tax, asset, valuation, and client information.
  • Assist with estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer, and fiduciary income tax matters and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, trustees, beneficiaries, financial institutions, accountants, advisors, and other professionals.
  • Track assets, distributions, expenses, tax obligations, court requirements, and important deadlines.
  • Maintain client and matter files and assist with matter opening, closing, billing, and document management.
  • Proactively identify missing information, potential issues, and upcoming deadlines.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree and paralegal certificate from ABA-accredited paralegal training program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of paralegal experience in estate and trust planning or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while delivering consistent, quality work-product to both attorneys and clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-start.
  • Ability to work independently with appropriate supervision and to seek help when needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
