About the Role

The Estate Planning Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to attorneys in estate planning and administration matters, assisting with client communications, document preparation, research, and case management. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with preparation and drafting of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other estate planning documents.
  • Prepare and organize documents for estate and trust administration, including probate filings and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate client intake, gather financial and personal information, and maintain accurate client files.
  • Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, insurance companies, courts, and other professionals.
  • Conduct legal and factual research related to estate planning, probate, trusts, and related matters.
  • Prepare correspondence, court forms, inventories, accountings, and other legal documents for attorney review.
  • Track deadlines, appointments, filings, and outstanding client documentation.
  • Assist with probate and estate administration proceedings, including asset collection, creditor matters, distributions, and closing estates.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical case files while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with firm procedures.
  • Coordinate execution and notarization of estate planning documents.
  • Assist attorneys with client meetings, follow-up communications, and case status updates.
  • Perform additional administrative and legal support duties as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in estate planning, probate, trusts, or elder law.
  • Strong understanding of estate planning and probate terminology and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case/document management systems.
  • Paralegal certificate or relevant legal education preferred.

Pay

Salary range: $60,000–$85,000 per year.
