Key Responsibilities
- Draft estate planning documents, including: Wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, Powers of attorney and health care directives, Ancillary transfer and funding documents
- Aid with probate and trust administration, including: Preparing court filings and pleadings, Coordinating asset valuation and distribution, Communicating with personal representatives, trustees, and beneficiaries
- Support attorneys in complex estate planning matters, including: Business succession planning, Tax-oriented estate planning strategies
- Administer high-net-worth estates, Manage client files from intake through closing, Ensuring accuracy and organization of all documentation
- Coordinate with clients and professional advisors (accountants, financial planners, etc.) to gather information and facilitate planning implementation
- Track deadlines and ensure timely filing of probate and court-related documents
- Maintain strong client relationships through professional, responsive communication
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a paralegal supporting estate planning and/or probate practice
- Strong working knowledge of: Minnesota probate procedures, Estate and trust administration processes, Estate planning document structures
- Experience drafting estate planning instruments independently or with minimal supervision preferred
- High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-service mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with estate planning or practice management software is a plus
