Estate and Trust Attorney

About the role

Meyer Capel, A Professional Corporation, is a diversified mid-sized (30+ attorney) Central Illinois law firm seeking candidates for an associate estate and trust attorney position at our Champaign, Illinois offices, with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements considered.

Responsibilities

• Providing estate and trust planning and administration counsel to clients of varying backgrounds, including but not limited to high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and their families.
• Representing fiduciaries throughout the probate and trust settlement process.
• Crafting business ownership succession plans and strategies for asset protection and tax efficiency.
• Advising clients regarding philanthropic and gifting solutions.
• Preparing IRS Form 709 gift tax returns and federal and state estate and generation-skipping transfer tax returns.

• Experience handling sophisticated estate and trust planning and administration matters.
