About the role

The role involves actively seeking new business, preparing closing disclosures, escrow agreements, and other settlement documents, communicating and collaborating with cross-functional departments, obtaining clear title, balancing financials, and ensuring compliance with Orchard Title policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Actively seek new business by attending sales meetings, real estate events, escrow, and management meetings and interact with lending and banking to increase capture rate.
  • Prepare closing disclosures, escrow agreements and all other settlement documents according to lender and/or buyer/seller instructions.
  • Clearly communicate and collaborate with cross-functional departments in Customer Experience, Brokerage, Contract Operations, and Funding to promptly troubleshoot and resolve any issues in the Title process to avoid delays.
  • Obtain clear title by curing title defects, satisfying existing liens and encumbrances against property or principals, and verifying proper vesting.
  • Balance all financials with corresponding invoices and tax balances.
  • Provide correct lender closing instructions and oversee the receipt and proper disbursement of funds; ensure all outstanding checks and escrowed funds are properly managed.
  • Maintain compliance with Orchard Title policies and procedures in accordance with governing laws, regulations, regulatory agencies and company standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an Licensed Escrow Officer with their own book of business.
  • Expected to bring in a minimum of 5 closings a month from their book of business.
  • Exceptional verbal and written customer service skills that help form positive relationships both internally and externally.
  • Confidence working with technologies (Google Suite) and speciality software (e.g. Qualia).
  • Working knowledge of state-level escrow rules and regulations enforced by Dept of Insurance.
