Job Summary

Book processor/Donations Attendant: Sorts, prices, and prepares donated books for placement in the store.

Essential Functions

  • Inspects donated books for overall quality and determines disposition of items based on store manager's direction.
  • Prepares books for the store according to the store quality and pricing standards.
  • Uses pricing machine, adhesive price tags in accordance with store standards and Store Manager's direction.
  • Maintains production and quality goals.
  • Completes assigned cleaning routine.
  • Affords assistance in the training of workers and consumers in cooperation with the Workforce Development Department staff.

Job Summary of a Donations Attendant

As a Donor Greeter, you will:
  • Greet donors graciously and promptly within 10 seconds.
  • Unload donations from vehicles and offer tax receipts to donors.
  • Report an accurate daily donor count.
  • Accurately sort and prepare donations for further processing.
  • Provide world-class customer service to all customers and donors.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Able to stand for two hours at a time over a period spanning up to eight hours. - Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

  • Carrries out additional duties as assigned by the store manager or Director of Retail.
  • Maintains safety standards within areas of responsibility.
  • Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds, walking or standing to a significant degree, and be able to move large boxes, furniture, and other heavy items.
