About the role
The Escrow Officer role is an in-office position located at 650 College Road East, Suite 3390, Princeton, NJ. This role requires exceptional decision-making skills, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task as part of a team. The Escrow Officer is responsible for handling real estate transactions by establishing new escrow accounts, managing funds, processing documents for closings, and completing settlements in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Determine requirements for real estate escrow transactions
- Act as a neutral liaison between file parties, adhering to company policy, and monitoring and mitigating risk to the company
- Ensure proper accounting and disbursement of funds in accordance with contract terms and company policy
- Prepare regular reports on escrow account status and provide these reports to the parties involved in the transaction
- Examine property titles, mortgages, and trust deed documents
- Prepare legal documents for the closure of the sale
- Complete closing by recording and filing documents, preparing, and distributing final closing statements and title
Requirements
- 2-4 years of escrow-related experience
- Experience in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania preferred
- Openness to new technology and proprietary programs; adjusts easily to new workflow
- Passion for helping customers while maintaining a professional and positive attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication with both internal and external customers
- Problem solver with strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and able to navigate internal and external resources to resolve issues
- Thrives in contributing to a team working together to deliver beyond customer expectations
- Knowledge of MS Office suite and ability to quickly adapt to new software applications and technologies
- Valid Licensing/Certification as required by applicable state
- High school diploma or equivalent
