ES/MS/HS Long-term English Language Learners Classified Substitute_ESCCO/OLSD

About the role

This position is for a certified special education teacher to substitute teach long-term English language learners at Olentangy Schools. The position will start on January 31, 2022.

Responsibilities

• Teach students who are long-term English language learners in accordance with Ohio Department of Education guidelines.
• Implement differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Collaborate with other educators and support staff to develop and implement effective educational plans.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.

Requirements

• Current Ohio teaching certificate in Special Education.
• Experience working with long-term English language learners preferred.
• Knowledge of English language acquisition and differentiation strategies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Ohio teaching license.
• Passing scores on appropriate subject area tests.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning needs.
• Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $16.71 per hour.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is flexible and will be determined based on the needs of the district.
