Position Summary
The Electronic Security Installer will be responsible for performing installs of appropriate devices, dismantling and reconstructing equipment as required by the work order.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Service and install intrusion, fire, CCTV, and access control security systems
- Perform scheduled and/or routine preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment/systems under contract by inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and calibrating
- Installs appropriate devices, dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by the commercial customer or management
- Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris
- Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify the schedule
- Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor
- Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures
- Tests operation of the system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service
- Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required
- Coordinates installations with required contacts and handles necessary records
- May work with other installers who are dedicated to a large commercial project
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills and Requirements
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings
- Ability to operate hand and power tools
- Ability to operate a fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times
- Knowledge in surveillance and security systems with a basic understanding of electronics, wiring, local and national codes
- Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service
- Valid driver's license and driving record in Good Standing
- Ability to maintain a reliable vehicle and appropriate liability vehicle insurance to perform work in the area, as deemed appropriate by Cennox liability insurance policy, currently in place and as amended in the future
- Subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing requirements, as well as at random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol tests as deemed appropriate by Cennox current approved drug testing policy
Education and Experience
- Six to twelve months of apprenticeship/classroom study OR 2 to 4 years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude or a combination
- Previous knowledge and training in the electronic security industry, preferred
- Current licensing, as required by state
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move 50 or more pounds
- Ability to sit and drive vehicle
- Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and reach freely
- Vision correctable to 20/20
