Position Summary

The Electronic Security Installer will be responsible for performing installs of appropriate devices, dismantling and reconstructing equipment as required by the work order.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Service and install intrusion, fire, CCTV, and access control security systems
  • Perform scheduled and/or routine preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment/systems under contract by inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and calibrating.
  • Installs appropriate devices, dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by the commercial customer or management.
  • Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
  • Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify the schedule.
  • Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
  • Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
  • Tests operation of the system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
  • Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
  • Coordinates installations with required contacts and handles necessary records.
  • May work with other installers who are dedicated to a large commercial project.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to operate a fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
  • Knowledge in surveillance and security systems with a basic understanding of electronics, wiring, local and national codes.
  • Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record in Good Standing
  • Ability to maintain a reliable vehicle and appropriate liability vehicle insurance to perform work in the area, as deemed appropriate by Cennox liability insurance policy, currently in place and as amended in the future
  • Subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing requirements, as well as at random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol tests as deemed appropriate by Cennox current approved drug testing policy.

Education and Experience

  • Six to twelve months of apprenticeship/classroom study OR 2 to 4 years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude or a combination.
  • Previous knowledge and training in the electronic security industry, preferred.
  • Current licensing, as required by state.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move 50 or more pounds
  • Ability to sit and drive vehicle
  • Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and reach freely
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
