Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and/or routine preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment/systems under contract
  • Inspect, adjust, clean, and calibrate equipment/systems
  • Install appropriate devices, dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required by the work order
  • Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris
  • Contact customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify the schedule
  • Prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor
  • Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures
  • Test operation of the system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service
  • Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required
  • Coordinate installations with required contacts and handle necessary records
  • May work with other installers who are dedicated to a large commercial project
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools
  • Ability to operate a fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times
  • Knowledge in surveillance and security systems with a basic understanding of electronics, wiring, local and national codes
  • Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service
  • Valid driver's license and driving record in Good Standing
  • Ability to maintain a reliable vehicle and appropriate liability vehicle insurance to perform work in the area, as deemed appropriate by Cennox liability insurance policy, currently in place and as amended in the future
  • Subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing requirements, as well as at random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol tests as deemed appropriate by Cennox current approved drug testing policy

Education and Experience

  • Six to twelve months of apprenticeship/classroom study OR 2 to 4 years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude or a combination
  • Previous knowledge and training in the electronic security industry, preferred
  • Current licensing, as required by state
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move 50 or more pounds
  • Ability to sit and drive vehicle
  • Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and reach freely
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
