About the role
The Electronic Security Installer will perform installs of appropriate devices, dismantling and reconstructing equipment as required by the work order.
Responsibilities
- Service and install intrusion, fire, CCTV, and access control security systems
- Perform scheduled and/or routine preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment/systems under contract by inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and calibrating
- Install appropriate devices, dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required by the commercial customer or management
- Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris
- Contact customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify the schedule
- Prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor
- Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures
- Test operation of the system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service
- Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required
- Coordinate installations with required contacts and handle necessary records
- May work with other installers who are dedicated to a large commercial project
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings
- Ability to operate hand and power tools
- Ability to operate a fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times
- Knowledge in surveillance and security systems with a basic understanding of electronics, wiring, local and national codes
- Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service
- Valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing
- Maintain a reliable vehicle and appropriate liability vehicle insurance as required by Cennox policy
- Subject to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing
Qualifications
- Six to twelve months of apprenticeship/classroom study OR 2 to 4 years of electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude or a combination
- Previous knowledge and training in the electronic security industry preferred
- Current licensing as required by state
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move 50 or more pounds
- Ability to sit and drive vehicle
- Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and reach freely
- Vision correctable to 20/20
