ERS-Engineering Regional Manager - Northeast
About the Role
The Regional Engineering Supervisor will support the Senior Engineering Manager with managing the Engineering Studies and Protection and Controls businesses. This role will lead a team of Engineers focused on professional engineering services, drive pipeline growth, execute orders, and ensure accurate forecasting. The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principles & Behaviors to help execute strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Engineers providing professional engineering services such as studies and protection and controls.
- Work closely with Service Center Managers and Sales to drive pipeline growth, execute orders, and provide accurate forecasting.
- Lead backlog reviews and hold applicable parties accountable for closure.
- Assist Sales with customer meetings or communicate vital changes to project schedules.
- Assist in project scope reviews and provide feedback for pricing.
- Mentor team members and provide learning opportunities.
- Effectively communicate with all stakeholders regarding financials, project status, and regional needs.
- Ensure the team is properly trained and has the tools necessary for success.
- Routinely review costs, including margin slippage, and implement measures to reduce it.
- Monitor utilization and adjust as needed.
- Work closely with the Manila Team to assist in project execution or handle other associated tasks.
- Collaborate with COE Admin and Service Center Managers to ensure jobs are opened, assigned correctly, and invoiced in a timely manner.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Service Centers regarding Engineering COE issues.
- Perform Engineering study analysis and/or protection and controls work to assist the team.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Engineering Manager based on business needs.
Requirements
- Technical Degree and/or equivalent industry experience.
- 10 years of Vertiv product knowledge.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Technical leadership and development skills.
- 25% travel required.
