ER Tech - SRC Emergency Room

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and provides patient education.
• Assists RN or Physician with direct patient care.
• Performs EKG’s, phlebotomy, splinting, point of care testing, data collection on vital signs, and pain assessment.
• Stocks supplies, sets up equipment, transports patients, and performs constant observation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completed ER Tech training or equivalent (EMT Training or one semester of clinical experience as a Student Nurse).
• One year of patient care experience or experience in an emergency room or related setting.
• CPR certification preferred or must attain it before completion of orientation and maintain certification.
• Specialized training and adequate preparation for urine pregnancy testing, orthopedic casting and splints, and phlebotomy upon completion of probationary period.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• English speaking, reading, and writing ability.
• Competent to provide care to patients of all ages.
