ER Registrar - Full-time, Nights

About the Role

The ER Registrar manages patient intake and registration in the Emergency Department, ensuring accurate documentation, insurance verification, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families with professionalism and compassion, ensuring a positive experience.
• Register patients, collecting personal, insurance, and medical information, and verifying details.
• Obtain necessary signatures and explain consent forms.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, assist with billing inquiries, and collect co-pays or deductibles.
• Document patient information accurately, including special circumstances if the patient cannot sign.
• Ensure proper patient identification with armbands and notify clinical staff of patient arrivals.
• Communicate with departments during emergencies and follow up on patient wait times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with policies and maintaining attendance.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in medical or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in healthcare settings or customer service.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with knowledge of insurance verification.
• Familiarity with EHR systems, attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive information.
• Effective interpersonal skills and professionalism in high-stress situations.
