ER Patient Access Representative

About the role

This position requires every other weekend - 9:00pm - 7:00am.

Responsibilities

- Greets all patients and guests in initiating check-in process. - Obtains and verifies accurate patient identification and demographic data to confirm or update the patient's record while maintaining confidentiality. - Responsible for completing eligibility of insurances presented and possibly offering some financial counseling as well as conducting point-of-service collections. - Completes registration for all admission processes while providing customer service in person and via phone. - Responsible for switchboard during all working hours.

Qualifications

- HS diploma or GED and a copy must be available. - Excellent customer and clerical experience needed. - Candidate must be able to multi-task while being detail-oriented and have computer skills with at least 40 words per minute. - Must be team-oriented but also able to work independently. - Job can require long periods of standing and walking as well as repetitive standing and sitting. - Preferred qualifications: Medical and insurance experience, medical terminology, fluently bilingual.
