Equity Research Senior Associate, Technology & Communications
Citi's Equity Research team is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Technology & Communications sector team, working at the intersection of public markets, venture capital, and the forces reshaping the global technology landscape.
About the role
This is a high-impact opportunity for a seasoned research professional ready to shape investment perspectives on one of the most dynamic sectors in global markets. You will co-author institutional research, build sophisticated financial models, and help establish Citi's thought leadership through written publications, multimedia, and industry events.
Responsibilities
- Author and co-publish equity research across the Technology & Communications sector, including earnings previews and recaps, initiation reports, and thematic deep-dive notes distributed to institutional clients.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models covering relative value analysis, earnings forecasts, and scenario modelling to underpin well-reasoned investment recommendations.
- Deliver timely, informed perspectives to internal and external clients on sector developments and covered companies, responding to inquiries with clarity and precision.
- Coordinate investor events including management meetings, company field trips, and industry consultant calls, ensuring a high-quality client experience from end to end.
- Integrate AI tools and emerging technologies into research workflows to improve data analysis, accelerate publication cycles, and raise the overall quality of outputs.
- Mentor junior team members through hands-on guidance and knowledge sharing, contributing to a high-performing research environment.
- Uphold the integrity of all research outputs by exercising sound judgement and adhering to regulatory and ethical standards across all investment-related activities.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of sell-side equity research experience, with a focus on the Technology & Communications sector or a closely aligned coverage area.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to construct and maintain complex financial models, with a strong command of accounting principles and valuation frameworks.
- Experience preparing research materials and client-facing communications in support of senior research analysts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate nuanced financial analysis into clear, compelling research narratives.
- Active holding of, or eligibility to obtain, SIE, Series 63, Series 86, and Series 87 licenses.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities accurately under time-sensitive conditions.

- MBA, graduate degree, or CFA designation reflecting advanced financial and analytical expertise.
- Significant recent recognition in external analyst surveys across the Technology & Communications sector, demonstrating measurable market impact and research quality.

Pay
Primary Location Full Time Salary Range: $60,800.00 - $263,760.00. In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.

Full time. Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
