About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of one of the most dynamic and fast-evolving sectors in the market. As a member of the Healthcare Technology and Distribution Research team, you will:

  • Analyze the digitization of healthcare: Cover companies that are driving and benefiting from the digital transformation of healthcare, including the rapid integration of artificial intelligence into clinical, administrative, and consumer-facing healthcare solutions.
  • Develop deep sector expertise: Build a nuanced understanding of the interplay among providers, payors, employers, patients, and government stakeholders, and how these relationships shape investment outcomes across the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Evaluate emerging care models: Assess disruptive models such as value-based care, virtual care, and tech-enabled services as they challenge and reshape traditional care delivery modalities.
  • Track policy and reimbursement dynamics: Analyze how changing reimbursement structures and evolving regulation create new investment opportunities and shift competitive dynamics across the industry.
  • Cover a diverse company universe: Engage with a broad and varied set of companies spanning digital health, tech-enabled healthcare services, animal health, dental, and traditional care delivery organizations undergoing technological transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Modeling: Maintain and update existing company models; create new models; maintain relative value sheets.
  • Research: Assist with the publication of earnings previews/recaps, initiation reports, deep dive notes, and thematic research on trends.
  • Communication: Assist with client inquiries and requests (internal and external).
  • Events: Assist with coordination of investor meetings (management meetings and field trips) and conference calls.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Citi Research focuses on delivering high-quality investment insights to investors globally, with a strong emphasis on independence and objectivity in its products and insights. The unit produces regular written research on healthcare technology and distribution companies, hosts investor meetings with company management teams, holds conference calls with industry consultants (including clinicians, health system executives, and policy experts), and regularly communicates with clients (both internal and external).

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of previous experience, ideally with exposure to healthcare, healthcare technology, or digital health sectors.
  • SIE, FINRA 63, 86, 87, or obtained within 180 days.
  • MBA or graduate degree and/or CFA preferred.
  • Experience in equity research; healthcare or healthcare technology sector knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of accounting and modeling.
  • Interest in or familiarity with healthcare industry dynamics (including providers, payors, employers, government programs, and emerging care delivery models) is a plus.
  • Experience supporting senior equity research analysts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Education

Bachelor's/University degree.

Pay

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00. In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
