Equity Research Senior Associate - Pharma Services (US)

About the role

Our Nashville-based team covers multiple subsectors in healthcare and the life science supply chain, including managed care, contract research organizations, contract manufacturing organizations, and related sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Work underneath publishing analysts to cover the pharma services subsector.
  • Understand the global drug development and commercialization landscape, including the services and IT vendors involved in that process.
  • Build, maintain, analyze, and forecast “3-statement” financial models.
  • Identify and build models around pharma services KPIs, such as funding, study starts, bookings, pricing, and AI impacts.
  • Identify correlations and predictive indicators of covered company fundamental performance.
  • Transform complicated datasets into compelling graphics.
  • Monitor, digest, and synthesize industry and company news, communicating implications to senior team members and investor clients.
  • Assist with research reports, earnings analyses, and industry/company news.
  • Interface with company management teams, internal sales/trading personnel, and institutional investors.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with relevant industry experts and executives to arrange corporate access events, including company non-deal roadshows, conferences, summits, and expert interactions (some travel may be required).
  • Work in a fast-paced environment without compromising attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Healthcare services experience with a particular emphasis on pharma outsourcing.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Fast learner, self-starter, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction while communicating project progress and findings effectively.
  • Enjoys taking on significant responsibility and balancing multiple overlapping projects.
  • Demonstrated competence and accountability, with an expectation of autonomy in modeling and writing, exposure to sales and institutional investor clients, and interaction with top management at companies.

The team’s weekly schedule varies depending on assignments, with higher workload volumes during quarterly reporting periods.

Pay

Full-time salary range of $135,000 - $165,000.
