Equipment Technician Supervisor (Mechanic) - St. Louis District

Responsibilities

• Supervises equipment technicians including assigning work, evaluating performance, making employment-related decisions and training.
• Advises and assists equipment technicians with equipment and vehicle diagnosis and repair.
• Schedules work to be performed in the district garage; coordinates field repairs with field maintenance personnel.
• Affirms district equipment needs and researches equipment best practices.
• Performs or coordinates general equipment, quality assurance and motor vehicle inspections.

Requirements

• Associate degree in automotive technology, auto mechanics or diesel mechanics, AND five years of experience in automobile or heavy equipment repair OR 30 credit hours of automobile or heavy equipment-related repair courses from a vocational-technical school, AND six years of experience in automotive or heavy equipment repair OR Seven years of experience in automobile or heavy equipment repair.
• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Skills

Strong communication and leadership skills are essential. Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment is required. Knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance procedures is necessary.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $50,000 - $80,000 annually.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
