Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical failures and repair all golf course–related equipment and vehicles according to manuals, factory specifications, and engine performance knowledge.
- Attach compression, ignition, and timing test instruments to equipment; start engines; read meters and gauges to diagnose malfunctions.
- Remove and disassemble engines, transmissions, and clutches; inspect parts for damage; verify dimensions and clearances using gauges such as calipers and micrometers.
- Replace or repair worn or damaged parts; grind valves; reline and adjust brakes; tighten body bolts; align wheels; tune engines.
- Weld defective body or frame parts.
- Maintain daily work records and perform daily equipment check-in and preventative maintenance procedures.
Requirements
- Knowledge of 2- and 4-cycle engines, diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Grinding, welding, and torch experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Long periods of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Capable of navigating rough and uneven terrain.
- Ability to work in hot, muggy, and inclement weather conditions on a continuous basis.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
