Equipment Mechanic

About the role

Grimmway Produce Group is seeking an Equipment Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide variety of vehicles and farm machinery/equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic repairs and troubleshooting on a wide variety of machinery and equipment.
• Preventative and routine maintenance of machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and recommend necessary repairs for complex machinery or equipment.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, meters, diagnostic tools, etc.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling equipment/machinery.
• Examine parts for wear and tear.
• Collaborate with farm managers and various farm personnel.
• Operate under stressful situations and be results-driven.

Requirements

• Five to seven years of mechanic experience.
• Skilled in all manner of machine/equipment repair, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, troubleshooting.
• Able to perform preventative and routine maintenance or learn quickly for a wide variety of machinery or equipment.
• Ability to drain and replace fluids, grease parts, and adjust/replace parts such as starters, batteries, etc.
• Skilled at operating in a collaborative manner with a team attitude.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record meeting company insurance and DMV requirements.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Farm machinery/equipment experience preferred.

Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools, meters, diagnostic tools, etc.
• Ability to dismantle equipment/machinery and replace parts.
• Collaborative and team-oriented approach.
• Flexibility and ability to operate under stress.
