Equipment Mechanic - Aerospace Industry -2nd shift
About the role
This is an hourly position with Local 475. The role involves working with various types of equipment and systems used in aircraft engine and gas turbine maintenance, including pumps, starters, solenoids, welding, plumbing, and mechanical and electrical blueprints. The position requires proficiency in multiple trades such as stick welding, tig welding, brazing, plumbing, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair servo-drives and DC power supplies. It also includes responsibilities such as calibrating gauges, operating forklifts, and analyzing mechanical and design problems.
Responsibilities
- Conversant with 480/220 volts AC systems
- Use multimeters and amp probes to check systems
- Stick Welding or Tig Welding
- Brazing
- Plumbing
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints
- Fabricate from prints using cutting and milling machines
- Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Repair surface media tumbling machinery
- Repair exhaust/extraction systems
- Troubleshoot and repair Servo-Drives and DC power supplies
- Operate forklift
- Calibrate plasma and vacuum console gauges
- Analyze mechanical and/or design problems
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision
Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years related equipment maintenance experience
- Minimum lift: floor to waist – 25 pounds, waist to shoulder level – 25 pounds, pull – 40 pounds
- Moderate cold and heat exposure, loud noise, fumes, and moving equipment in a production floor environment
- Must be fluent in English
