Responsibilities

• Coordinate with shipping, receiving, and material handling partners regarding workload requirements.
• Move trailers as needed within the yard to facilitate loading and unloading.
• Perform general duties within the functional area, including pallet consolidation, material handling, loading, and unloading of trailers, and other related work.
• Perform routine inspection of yard tractor, including safety checks and fueling, adhering to applicable regulations and procedures. Report all maintenance and safety issues to shift lead or supervisor.
• Understand and follow established safety guidelines, programs, and procedures; actively work to prevent safety incidents.
• Support food safety, legality, and quality programs.
• Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications, and quality procedures.
• Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED, US military service, or equivalent.
• Current Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A).
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Attention to detail and basic math skills.
• Safe driving record, in accordance with established Starbucks guidelines.
• Ability to follow verbal direction and understand written policies, guidelines, specifications, and safety standards.
• Ability to learn and accurately operate different computer systems.
• Self-motivated and available to work variable shifts to support business needs.
• Ability to work in accordance with safety, quality, and sanitation standards, policies, and procedures.
• Experience driving tractor-trailer combinations, including backing, hooking, and dropping trailers.
• One year of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• One year of material handling experience.

Skills

• Organization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate required material handling equipment.
