Equine Ambulatory, Clinical Track Asst/Assoc Professor or Professor of Practice

About the role

The Department of Clinical Sciences at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a Clinical Track position at the level of Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor or Professor of Practice in Equine Ambulatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent primary and emergency clinical care and case management, participate in teaching and service within the Equine Section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, provide didactic lectures in the professional curriculum, and participate in graduate student and intern training programs.
• Clinical responsibilities will include independent, primary and emergency case care within the Equine Ambulatory Service to our surrounding area. A share of after-hours emergency duty is expected.
• Teaching activities will be conducted principally in a clinical field setting with laboratory and didactic teaching as well.

Qualifications

• A DVM or equivalent degree and eligibility for veterinary licensure in the State of Alabama and the State of Georgia are required at the time employment begins.
• A minimum of three years of equine practice experience as a veterinarian are required.
• The successful candidate must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of the appointment and be able to continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
• Candidates that are board certified or board eligible in an appropriate specialty college (American or European College including: Theriogenology; Internal Medicine – Large Animal; Veterinary Surgery – Large Animal; Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation – Equine, or Board of Veterinary Practitioners – Equine Practice) are desired but not required.

Starting Salary

The starting salary will be commensurate with experience and credentials.
