This position supports operational tasks for Campus Recreation programs and facilities, providing excellent customer service, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring safety and policy compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer safety, facility and asset cleanliness, effective operations, and a high level of customer service.
  • Assist in the maintenance and adherence of risk management procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with university policies.
  • Address customer questions and concerns, and communicate any issues or complaints to the Campus Rec Student Manager on shift.
  • Maintain clean and organized facilities and equipment by stocking supplies and cleaning public spaces.
  • Assist with events and operations during evening, night, or weekend hours.
  • Attend all required Campus Recreation trainings and meetings.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by Campus Rec full-time staff to support operations and programming.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering Liberty University’s mission.

Requirements

  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.
  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week.
  • Prior horse experience (ownership, stable work, and/or professional equine experience).
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, early mornings, afternoons, and late nights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of prior horse experience (ownership, stable work, and/or professional equine experience).
  • Experience in a customer service position.
  • Experience working in the equine industry.

Skills

  • Communication and Comprehension:
    • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages effectively.
    • Strong public communication skills for representing Liberty University.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Ability to analyze information, reason intuitively, and apply judgment to solve routine and complex problems.
  • Physical and Sensory Abilities:
    • Frequently required to sit or stand for extended periods.
    • Regularly required to hear and speak for effective communication.
    • Frequently required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move around the facility.
    • Ability to handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop.
    • Regularly lift 40 or fewer pounds.

Working Conditions

  • Split between two climate-controlled fitness facility settings.
  • Well-lit environments with moderate noise levels.

Pay

Starting at $12.77 per hour. Pay may vary by position and department based on job responsibilities, required skills, available funding, and market conditions.

Schedule

Part-time, onsite position with varied shifts, including weekends, early mornings, afternoons, and late nights.
