About the role
You will serve as the principle advisor on EEO issues to the installation commander; provide information on EEO laws, policies and employment regulations as well as provide information on policies and practices to applicants, employees and managers.
Responsibilities
- Helps solve individual, institutional and systemic problems, and eliminates barriers to equality of opportunity for all employees.
- Serves on a variety of management committees and boards that address organizational considerations, staffing requirements and various human resources activities.
- Oversees all aspects of informal and formal complaint process from start to finish.
- Oversees all aspects of the reasonable accommodation process in a timely manner.
- Reviews EEO Program areas to identify and develop equal employment opportunity training plans for supervisory development and mandatory annual EEO and bi-annual training for all employees.
- Collects, analyzes and prepares reports on workforce profiles, complaint processing, MD 715 requirements, special emphasis and various trend data studies in order to assess progress towards affirmative employment goals.
- Supervises a staff of EEO Specialists performing work to support the EEO program.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics.
Qualifications
- At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Executing and evaluating a civilian federal equal employment opportunity (EEO) program to include managing the Reasonable Accommodations (RA) program, applying EEO concepts, principles and laws, analyzing reports, advising on the application of EEO program requirements, briefing senior leadership on Federal Equal Employment Opportunity laws and regulations and precedent decisions related to Federal Government EEO program, and developing strategic initiatives and recommendations for senior leaders.
