Epic Willow Ambulatory Analyst

About the role

Join a healthcare IT team as an Epic Willow Ambulatory Analyst focused on retail and outpatient pharmacy operations. In this role, you’ll design, build, optimize, and support Willow Ambulatory to ensure stable, efficient medication workflows in a high-volume, production-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, test, implement, and support Epic Willow Ambulatory functionality for retail and outpatient pharmacy workflows
  • Analyze retail pharmacy operations and translate workflow requirements into scalable Epic configuration that improves efficiency and standardization
  • Support the full retail medication lifecycle, including prescription intake, dispensing, charging, inventory visibility, and downstream system impacts
  • Perform routine system maintenance, resolve production incidents, and deliver application enhancements to improve stability and performance
  • Partner with Retail Pharmacy Operations and leadership to identify workflow gaps, drive optimization, and support operational initiatives (including new pharmacy/store openings)
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for retail pharmacy stakeholders on Willow Ambulatory capabilities, constraints, and best-fit configuration approaches
  • Participate in integrated testing, workflow validation, and upgrade readiness activities to ensure release quality and operational continuity
  • Support cutover planning, go-live execution, and post-go-live stabilization for retail pharmacy changes and enhancements
  • Validate system behavior using production-like scenarios and resolve defects prior to deployment
  • Support integrations between Willow Ambulatory and third-party retail pharmacy systems, dispensing hardware, and external vendor platforms
  • Partner with interface and vendor teams to triage issues, coordinate testing, troubleshoot defects, and minimize operational disruption
  • Collaborate with the Willow Inpatient team on shared medication records, enterprise build alignment, and cross-application initiatives impacting ambulatory and inpatient pharmacy
  • Independently manage assigned tasks and small-to-medium retail pharmacy initiatives while balancing enhancement work with time-sensitive production support
  • Provide clear status updates, identify risks, escalate issues appropriately, and prioritize work based on business impact and patient experience
  • Create and maintain build documentation, workflow descriptions, test scripts/artifacts, and support materials in alignment with enterprise change control and governance standards

Requirements

  • Experience supporting, configuring, implementing, or maintaining Epic Willow Ambulatory
  • Strong understanding of retail and/or outpatient pharmacy workflows, including prescription processing, dispensing, charging, and inventory
  • Experience working in a complex healthcare IT environment
  • Understanding of pharmacy application integrations, interfaces, third-party systems, dispensing technology, and/or point-of-sale-related systems
  • Experience with application testing, workflow validation, upgrades, implementations, and production support
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including translating operational requirements into technical solutions
  • Ability to partner effectively with pharmacy leadership, business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication, documentation, organization, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, production-focused environment
  • Ability to work independently and escalate technical or operational issues appropriately
  • Familiarity with enterprise change management, governance, and application support processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience collaborating across Willow Ambulatory and Willow Inpatient environments
  • Epic certification or relevant Epic Willow Ambulatory experience
