About the role
The EPIC Trainer at PIH Health is responsible for conducting technical training for end users of EHR (Electronic Health Record) software applications. This includes developing and delivering learning materials, lesson plans, creating online modules, instructor-led training, and job aids. The role also involves maintaining and updating a schedule of training courses and conducting these trainings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver learning materials for various training sessions such as orientation, onboarding, advanced, refresher classes, helpful hints, FAQs, tip sheets, etc.
- Maintain and create a schedule of training courses and conduct those trainings.
Requirements
- Excellent writing skills and understanding of adult learning principles.
- Critical thinking skills, capable of making independent decisions and judgments based on processes, needs, and developments.
Qualifications
- Analyst I: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be credentialed trainer in 1+ EPIC module(s) appropriate to area of training needs determined by PIH Health IT Department. Requires successful completion of the EPIC credentialing process, teaching presentation before a panel, and credentialing examination within one year of employment. Minimum 3 years of experience working in a healthcare setting using EHR/EDR systems, facilitating training classes, or equivalent experience in developing and presenting training curriculum.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or related field. Clinical background and 4+ years of experience. Three (3) or more years using the EPIC EHR system.
- Analyst II: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be credentialed trainer in 1+ Epic module(s) appropriate to area of training needs determined by PIH Health IT Department. Requires successful completion of the EPIC credentialing process, teaching presentation before a panel, and credentialing examination within one year of employment. Minimum 3 to 7 years of experience working in a healthcare setting using EHR/EDR systems, facilitating training classes, or equivalent experience in developing and presenting training curriculum.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or related field. Clinical background and 4+ years of experience. Three (3) or more years using the Epic EHR system.
