Epic Principal Trainer

About the Role

Implements and leads the education and training plan for the EMR system and Upstate-specific applications. Develops schedules and tracks all training efforts. Prepares training material for multiple delivery modes. Develops expertise in assigned applications as well as business area and departmental workflows. Leads project management initiatives, coordinates training and activities of department-based trainers, and ensures they maintain competency. Reports project status information to management and/or project requestors on a timely basis.

Responsibilities

• Implement and lead the education and training plan for the EMR system and Upstate-specific applications.
• Develop schedules and track all training efforts.
• Prepare training material for multiple delivery modes.
• Develop expertise in assigned applications, business area, and departmental workflows.
• Lead project management initiatives and coordinate training activities of department-based trainers.
• Ensure department-based trainers maintain competency.
• Report project status information to management and/or project requestors on a timely basis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Education, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Business, Finance, Nursing, or an Allied Health Profession.
• 3 years of relevant professional work experience (preferably in a healthcare setting) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytic, interpersonal, presentation, and customer service skills.

Schedule

Days: Monday–Friday, with occasional off-hours as needed.
